“19”: Nineteen Women Who Changed the Face of Music

Centennial Celebration of the 19th Amendment—Women’s Right to VOTE!

A concert celebrating nineteen women whose voices changed the nation, “19” happens in 2020 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Women’s Suffrage. The concert will include songs by the nineteen most celebrated female singer-songwriters whose work changed the face of music. From jazz and the blues, to rock and folk, to country, gospel and beyond, here are the melodies, harmonies and lyrics that shaped America. Among the artists celebrated will be Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Aretha Franklin, Dolly Parton, Joan Baez, Nina Simone, Peggy Lee, Janis Joplin, Linda Ronstadt and more. Vocalists to be announced.
