Theater Experience

For millennia, cultures have turned to art as a way of expressing, questioning, and wrestling with the human condition. This summer, our Theater classes will focus on learning how other cultures approach theater, music, and dance. Whether we focus on the music of Canada's Come From Away or on Italy's commedia dell'arte, we will soon see that it's the human condition that unites us all.  Classes will include scene study from musicals set around the globe, character development, dance from around the world, physical theater, vocal work, sight singing, and score reading.

Faculty will include Brian O'Brien (Chicago), Jarrod Bates (Commedia dell'Arte), Julie Benko (Fiddler on the Roof), Bill Bowers (Mime), Gabriel Chajnik (APAA/AXCBT Director), Aaron Kaburick (Mrs. Doubtfire), Liz Gillam (Suzuki Technique, Restoration Comedy), Lindsay Jorgensen (AXCBT), Ashley Marinaccio (Theater of the Oppressed), Joe Moffit (Musical Direction), Zach Miller (Vocal Technique), Olivia Miranda (AXCBT), Rachel Prather (A Band's Visit), Gabriela Soto (Steven Spielberg's West Side Story) and more!
