Your health and well-being are our priority, so please visit our website to see how we are working to keep all our patrons safe during these difficult times. Our Covid-19 regulations are updated regularly on the site, and all ticket holders agree to adhere to the most current guidelines.

For performances of The SpongeBob Musical and The Nutcracker Rocks, all ticket holders, ages 12 and up, are required to be fully vaccinated or to provide a negative COVID test result taken within 72 hours of show time. All patrons are required to wear a mask in the theater for 2022 Main-Stage Musicals.

The Axelrod Performing Arts Center is committed to the safety and well-being of our patrons as you return to the Vogel Auditorium. In accordance with the New Jersey Theater Alliance, the standards of the Broadway theater community and Actors’ Equity Association and the latest CDC guidelines—the Axelrod staff will adhere to the following protocols and policies to ensure that we are Opening Right:

  • All patrons must be vaccinated. Patrons must show proof of vaccination before presenting tickets. Proof may be in the form of a vaccination card or a vaccine passport app on an iPhone/Android (such as Docket, VaxYes, Clear and Airside Digital Identity).

  • Vaccinations are also mandated for all staff, crew, artists, and volunteers.

  • Masks are required for patrons. All staff working with the public will be required to wear masks.

  • Children ages 2 to 12 (who are ineligible for the Covid-19 vaccination) are required to wear masks in the theater.

  • All surfaces in the theater, lobby and box office will be cleaned and disinfected before and between all performances.

  • The theater’s HVAC system has been upgraded to provide for maximum fresh-air ventilation utilizing the CDC-recommended MERV-13 filters, which  are being replaced monthly (instead of every 3 to 4 months).

  • All ticket transactions will be contactless.

  • Programs will be available through a QR code. No physical programs will be distributed until further notice.

  • All tickets are refundable and exchangeable up to the day of the performance. If a patron is not feeling well or feels they may have come in contact with Covid-19, call the box office and arrange an exchange or refund. There’s never anything to lose!

  • Patrons are encouraged to sanitize their hands at one of the available hand-sanitation stations prior to entering the auditorium.

  • No food or beverage is permitted in the theater or lobby, except water bottles. There are no concession stands open for the remainder of 2021.

  • The management will adhere to additional guidance of the CDC and other public health officials and adjust our protocols accordingly. Check this space frequently for updates and changes to the above policies.
