Join Broadway’s Kerry Butler for a Vocal MasterClass focusing on finding your belt/mix voice!

 

Kerry Butler is a Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Drama League Award nominee. She first dreamed of being an actress when she was 9 years old and saw Annie. Since then she has been in twelve Broadway shows.  

Some of her favorite roles include Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Penny in Hairspray, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, and Kira in Xanadu which earned her a Tony nomination. Most recently Kerry appeared in Mean Girls and Beetlejuice.

Kerry has also crossed over into film and television with roles in The Miseducation of Cameron Post, Honor Society, 30 Rock, Gilmore Girls Reunion, Law & Order: SVU, and The Mindy Project

Join Andrea Weber, former dancer with Merce Cunningham Dance Company for an exciting

Modern Dance Workshop!

 

Andrea Weber was a dancer with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company from 2004 - 2011, performing roles in over 25 works. Andrea is on faculty of the Merce Cunningham Trust, teaching Cunningham Technique® at New York City Center, Barnard College and the Joffrey Jazz and Contemporary Trainee program. She has also taught at SUNY Purchase, Brown University, Skidmore College, the American Dance Festival, ArcDanz Festival, NYU Tisch, ABT Studio Company, Salem State College and Dance New Amsterdam. Andrea has staged Pond Way for Ballett am Rhein and Ballet Vlaanderen, Suite for Five for the CNSMD in Lyon, RainForest for the Stephen Petronio Company, Sounddance at UNCSA, and How to Pass, Kick, Fall and Run for Boston Conservatory. She arranged and staged the Events for the Merce Cunningham: Common Time exhibit at both the Walker Arts Center and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. Andrea has also danced with Coleman & Lemieux Compagnie, Dance Heginbotham, Jessica Lang Dance, Cornfield Dance, Jonah Bokaer, and Charlotte Griffin.

Audition for Axelrod Contemporary Ballet Theater's

THE POLAR EXPRESS!

 

Now casting student roles for The Polar Express, directed by Gabriel Chajnik! Join us for our audition workshops on August 17 & August 30 at Bell Works for the opportunity to perform alongside professional dancers. Please fill out the audition form below and bring your resume/headshot.

This Dance-Theatre style show is a first-class, family-friendly, dance and music production that If cast, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside great professional dancers and a superb creative team. Audition workshops will be held at our studio at Bell Works in Holmdel, NJ. Performances will be December 1-10 at the Axelrod PAC in Deal.

No audition fee required. Please wear leotard, tights, ballet shoes and jazz shoes.

Choose one of the following auditions/workshops to attend:

 

August 17 

3-4pm Warm-up Class & Choreo (Ages 7-11)

4:30-6:30pm Ballet Class, followed by learning choreography from the show. Singing audition will be at 6:30pm. (Ages 12+)

August 30

“Hero Boy” 

Boy Child Dancer/Actor/Singer 

 

Must be at least 10 years old, under 5 feet, and be able to convincingly play an age 8-11 boy. Looking for a strong dancer/singer that can act, tap is a plus. Scenes include interactions with adult dancers and other children, and the role includes singing, dancing, and acting. All family-friendly content, a great annual family holiday show at our performing arts center.
