The Nutcracker Rocks

December 11 through 19

AUDITION: Video Auditions

Seeking Pre-Professional Ballet Dancers Ages 12 - 20

A magical reimagining of a family holiday classic! The Nutcracker Rocks is a mixture of high-power music and dance that will transport you to a land of brave toy soldiers and sweet sugar plum fairies. Based on Hoffman’s original story, choreographer Gabriel Chajnik translates the Victorian-era Nutcracker from the bustles and ruffles of the 1890s to contemporary times. The beloved Tchaikovsky score is reimagined in collaboration with renowned rockers Alex Rosamilia and Alex Levine, members of The Gaslight Anthem.

Under the direction of Gabriel Chajnik, APAA is a pre-professional program that seeks dedicated, talented theater and dance students who want to pursue a future in the performing arts. While our students LOVE every minute of studying and rehearsing, this is not a recreational dance performance. APAA's educational philosophy combines both process and perfomance. Students train with outstanding professionals and then apply what they have learned on the stage in a full-scale production. .
